Spider Woman is the creator of life. She gathered clay in the four colors of the earth (red, brown, black and yellow) mixed in her own saliva then covered each with the cape of wisdom. She sang the creation song and from each was born humankind. Each was given a wisdom and different language. She also created all the animals and brought forth the moon and stars.

She caught the sun in a clay pot and brought it to the dark side of the world so there could be light on both sides of the earth. She connected the four corners of the earth by spinning two silver strands of her web. One running north to south and one running east to west. In the center was where she lived. In the Hopi tradition this is how the Road of Life was created, its' symbol the equal armed cross.

She is the bringer of wisdom, reason, intellect and instinct. She teaches that women are essential part of life creation. That all people were made from the same source, the clay our of mother earth. Therefore all are equal in the eyes of our mother and have the same responsibilities to her and each other.

She reminds us to keep in connection with our spiritual source and higher self. She is the bringer of sacred wisdom in our dreams, connecting us to her crown with her silver web. She is the spinner of fate and magickal charms.

You can make Spider Woman's smudge stick by getting 8 lengths of dried sage, cedar and sweet grass. Tie these together in a bundle with red, brown, yellow and black twine. Trim off excess twine. Use this to bring Spider Woman's blessings into your magick work.

To help bring Spider Woman's sacred wisdom to you while you dream hang a dream catcher over your bed or some where in your bedroom. East is a good direction to hang a dream catcher because east is the way of wisdom. Once you know where you are going to hang the dream catch you can do the following ritual to consecrate it and allow Spider Woman's dream magick to work for you.

Now take the smudge stick and smudge the dream catcher with it. Slowly move the smudge stick around the perimeter of the dream catcher. Fully cover the dream catcher in smoke. Move around the room clockwise letting the smoke follow you allowing the sage to clean the room and the sweet grass to bring good energy.

Let yourself feel Spider Woman's presences. Take a moment to mediate on what she means to you. Tell the dream catcher that you want it to help connect you to Spider Woman and her wisdom in your dreams. Close by thanking the Goddess and directions. Open circle.

You can also bring Spider Woman's magick into your life and rituals by using the following:
